And in a culture of youthfulness and healthy lifestyles, people do not like to be burdened with reading glasses

The Presbia Microlens™, is a tiny implant 3.2mm in diameter and 0.015mm/15microns thick (one-fourth the thickness of a single human hair) that is placed in the cornea of your eye for the correction of presbyopia. The procedure is a brief, minimally-invasive procedure and is barely discernable once placed. The lens design is similar to a bi-focal, so light passed to the retina is focused and increase near vision quality without the undesirable effects of Monovision. The Presbia Microlens™ is offered in a wide range of powers.

Implanted in the non-dominant eye, the Presbia Microlens™ offers patients functional near, intermediate and distant vision with only a limited reduction in distance acuity in the operative eye.When utilizing binocular vision this reduction in distance acuity is barely noticed by the patient and 99% of patients have 20/20 binocular vision.

Step One - Pocket Creation

A pocket is created in the cornea of your eye using a femtosecond laser.  The same laser used in millions of laser eye procedures worldwide.

Step Two - Presbia Microlens™ Implantation.

The Presbia Microlens™ is inserted into the pocket and seals naturally.

 

IMPLANTED IN THE NON-DOMINANT EYE

Step Three- Implantation Complete

The pocket seals itself, holding the lens in place at the center of the visual axis. The lens is barely visible to the naked eye.
